Why Families Choose Washington Spectrum Schools

We are more than just a school—we are a supportive and inclusive learning community. Here’s what makes us different:

Individualized Learning Plans

Every child learns in their own way. That’s why we develop academic plans individualized to each student’s strengths and needs.

Small Class Sizes

With a maximum of 15 students per classroom and a student to teacher ratio of 5:1, your child receives the attention and support they need to build the component skills to succeed—academically, emotionally, and socially.

Understanding Environment

We celebrate differences and meet the child where they are to reinforce and build upon their strengths creating confident learners excited to come to school each day.

Highly Trained Staff

Our educators, therapists, and behavior analysts specialize in supporting neurodivergent learners and use evidence-based practices grounded in compassion and science.

Our Approach to Education

Washington Spectrum Schools combines academic learning with essential life skills and therapeutic support. Our goal is to prepare students not just for graduation, but for meaningful, independent lives.

Academic Instruction

We follow national and local standards but adapt our teaching methods to fit each learner. Our students engage in reading, math, science, and social studies through interactive, hands-on learning.

Educational Outcomes

Our programs are thoughtfully designed to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. In partnership with families, we shape meaningful goals that connect each student’s current strengths with their future possibilities—building a clear path forward, together.

Throughout the day, our team gathers data on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals. This information is reviewed regularly and used to adjust instruction and ensure consistent progress toward each child’s individual goals. This responsive approach helps us deliver meaningful outcomes that reflect your child’s growth and potential.

Our commitment to measurable progress, combined with compassionate support, helps students build the confidence and competence they need to thrive—in our school community and in the wider world.

The ABA Classroom

The principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) are seamlessly integrated into everything we do to support acquisition of language, academic concepts, self-regulation strategies, appropriate classroom behavior, social and learning skills.

Supporting Sensory Needs

We teach a multitude of strategies to help students manage their sensory needs.
